About the Artist:
Divya Devaguptapu is an internationally acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer based in San Diego & Chennai, India. Critically acclaimed for her thought provoking and mature choreography, her dance technique is soundly rooted in the Kalakshetra style and she is known for her spontaneous and involved abhinaya(expression). Recognized as a highly creative artiste, her work is deeply rooted in the traditional framework of Bharatanātyam and laced with contemporary thought and metaphors, creating a unique style that is meaningful across global audiences. She is an adjunct faculty of dance at UC San Diego and a performing artiste with Young Audiences of America.
